  • Heat recovery dehumidification contributes to LEED certification

Lynwood, Washington-a newly expanded recreation center featuring dehumidification energy recovery units has received Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.  The certification recognizes the use of energy saving and ‘green’ design strategies. In addition to dehumidification units that help reclaim energy that is normally exhausted  from the building, designers added:

    • Low flow toilets and shower heads with timed shut off valves in locker rooms
    • Solar preheating system for domestic hot water
    • Water saving regenerative media for pool filtration systems
    • Rain gardens, native drought tolerant landscape plantings and water-conserving irrigation system
    • Windows and natural light sources in more than 90% of the spaces
